Camai,
My name is Jason Borer and I have accepted
the position as the new General Manager of
the Cordova Office of the Eyak Corporation. My main duties
include Land Management, Shareholder Relations, and administrative
work for the Eyak Foundation. As many of you know, I was born
in Cordova and have lived here off and on for the past 50
years.
I regretfully resigned from the Eyak Corporation Board of
Directors in order to take this position. My time on the board
has given me a unique perspective on the future of the Eyak
Corporation and what role the Cordova office is going to play
in that future.
Recently, the Eyak Board underwent a strategic planning retreat
and has incorporated the priorities from the retreat into
all future meetings. The Board formed four committees: Governance,
Finance, Lands, and Communications. Governance and Finance
committees are filled with Board members only and the Lands
and Communications committees are “ad hoc” with
shareholders participating as members. Each committee is chaired
by a member of the Board of Directors. The Committees research
and make recommendations on issues to the Board. I was on
the Land Committee as a Board member and now as a staff member.
Current Land Committee members are Chairman Martin Parsons,
Past Eyak Corporation Chairman John Johnson, Past CEO and
Chairman Luke Borer, past Board member Joe Cook. The land
committee has gone through the first stage of the planning
process and identified the major issues facing the land department:
SLUP Program, Gravel Sales, Land Sales, Trespass Enforcement.
If you have any issues or concerns in any of these areas,
please contact Jason at 907-424-7161 or Jborer@eyakcorp.com.
Each newsletter will cover a new aspect of the committee process
and how shareholders can be involved in the process. If anyone
would like to participate in the communications committee,
please contact Jason as above.
Quyana!
